Ja, das weiß jeder, der länger in dem Geschäft arbeitet. Es gibt aber auch Mittel, wie man sich davor schützen kann und die Erfahrung spielt dabei eine wichtige Rolle. Wenn dann da steht:
"We did extensive double blind tests a few years ago between Sonic HD, Sadie, and Wavelab, swapping out multiple Pacific Microsonics converters. Although all of the resultant bitstreams nulled perfectly, everyone present agreed that the Sonic just sounded a little different. The Sadie and Wavelab systems sounded much closer to each other, but there was certainly a difference. I've noticed that the ASIO and WDM Lynx drivers in Wavelab sound a little different as well."
Dann sind Doppel Blind Tests sicher eine Möglichkeit, Irritationen durch Gefühle zu minimieren.
Ein weiterer Pumkt wird hier angesprochen:
"If you're looking for playback differences, nulling captured digital bounces is completely meaningless. In fact most decent DAWs will generate bit-identical files in digital domain. No big surprise, and source of all the consternation. Playback engines don't necessarily need to playback every single sample at perfect values to sound more or less ok. They can lose samples periodically, and no one notices, so in fact they do in some contexts - we experience it as skipping or pops or that odd shredding sound you get sometimes when your DSP is under too much of a load. In fact many things can go wrong under the hood that affect sound at the DAC, without disrupting digital transports/transfers. Thus by definition test must capture and compare converted analog signals to one another."
Man müsste also das analoge Ausgangssignal eines Wandlers aufnehmen, dem mit dem gleichen File von 2 verschiedenen DAWs gefüttert wird, und diese beiden Files dann untersuchen.
