so gehts!

- aus dem reaper forum, user "pete standing alone":

"[...] with the new version of Reaper, when you [g=415]loop[/g] in record, there is no glitch each time the transport reaches the end of your [g=415]loop[/g] and returns to the beginning. [...]

To be clear, what I'm doing is recording into Reaper with the preferences set in such a way that the moment the end of the [g=415]loop[/g] is reached and Reaper loops around, the audio I\\\\\\\\\\'ve just recorded in that first pass is audible when I play over the top on the 2nd pass, and 3rd and so on, cycling indefinitely and building up a song without ever stopping the transport. This is how traditional loopers like the Gibson Echoplex work, the main issue being that you should be able to hold a note ringing off the \\\\\\\\\\'end\\\\\\\\\\' of the [g=415]loop[/g] and have it continue into the start of the [g=415]loop[/g] without a glitch so that overall your looping is smooth.

The preferences required on the specific track are 'free item positioning' enabled, 'play all takes' enabled, and '[g=226]monitor[/g] track media when recording\\\\\\\\\\' in the monitoring options. In the main Reaper preferences you need to go to the Recording tab and set it to \\\\\\\\\\'Create New Files on [g=415]Loop[/g]\\\\\\\\\\' and tick \\\\\\\\\\'At Each [g=415]Loop[/g] (creates new files, good for recording multiple audio layers on the fly etc.)\\\\\\\\\\' This way you\\\\\\\\\\'ll always hear the audio you just played when the [g=415]loop[/g] cycles around."

have fun!
