Your sad, sad eyes
I want you to stay, but you want to go
You're running away from something
I'd like to know, what's going on
You're running away from something
I talk and talk, you seem somewhere else
Always running away from something
I don't know what to do and I worry ‘bout you
You're always running away from something
And that look on your face is the last thing I see
A memory burned in my brain and in me
I stumble and fall, how can I break your wall
You're running away from something
I see your pain, it's so clear and plain
You're running away from something
And that look on your face is the last thing I see
A memory burned in my brain and in me
Your sad, sad eyes feel like echoes of pain
Lost in their beauty, they hold me like chains
Please break them free — I don’t want to keep
That look as the last thing I’ll see when you leave
Final chance to give, there's still a life to live
You're always running away from something
Have you lost all trust,
You're always running away from something
And that look on your face is the last thing I see
A memory burned in my brain and in me
Your sad, sad eyes feel like echoes of pain
Lost in their beauty, they hold me like chains
Please break them free — I don’t want to keep
That look as the last thing I’ll see when you leave
Let me help you, goddammit — your armor’s no win
It won’t stop the world, it just locks you in
