The cage
The chains of tyranny are finally broken
The locked door is open, and daylight shines in
The cage I left behind is empty and deserted
I can breathe freely again
But the memory of everything won't fade immediately
Broken and without hope, I leave the place
Little by little, I understand what happened
I can hardly believe it, but now I am free
Everything bad belongs to the past,
which I've finally left behind me
Where should I go know and what will become of me?
Years of torment have made me what I'm today:
A very anxious person, afraid to take the next step
Happiness and hope - what do they mean to me?
They’re simply foreign words that I don't know
and that have never played a role before
Little by little, I understand what happened
I can hardly believe it, but now I'm free
Everything bad belongs to the past,
which I've finally left behind me
In life they say: when one door closes, another opens
Does this apply to me too?
What can I do to get my life under control?
Very carefully I take a small step
Is this the glimmer of hope I've been waiting for?
That's what I'm wondering now
The old ends here, at this point, and the new begins
Perhaps it was intended that way,
so that something different, more beautiful, could emerge
The cage
The chains of tyranny are finally broken
The locked door is open, and daylight shines in
The cage I left behind is empty and deserted
I can breathe freely again
But the memory of everything won't fade immediately
Broken and without hope, I leave the place
Little by little, I understand what happened
I can hardly believe it, but now I am free
Everything bad belongs to the past,
