Hallo
"Here is where we put to use one of our most effective tools: the multiband compressor. You may think your bass tone is fairly tight at this point. Believe it or not, no matter how tight it presently is, the multiband compressor will make it even tighter. You will be using two bands for this. One to tackle the sub lows and the other to tackle the mid- bass. I generally set the crossover point anywhere between 70Hz and 100Hz, depending on what the tone needs. The higher band tends to fall off anywhere from 180Hz to 250Hz. You now have a nifty way of being able to increase or decrease two specific bass bands at whim. Set the attacks and releases quite fast on both bands. Move your thresholds until the tone gets noticeably tighter. The trade-off is that you will also make the presence and thickness of the bass smaller here. You can compensate for that with the makeup gain on each band. I normally run them anywhere from 0.5dB to 1dB to compensate for what’s lost. "
