"Using DreamStation DXi2
DreamStation DXi2 is a polyphonic analog [g=365]synthesizer[/g] plug-in which can be used from within compatible host application(s) supporting DirectX Instruments/Soft synths (DXi2 architecture).
DreamStation DXi2 acts as a “single” timbral (one instrument per plug-in based) [g=32]MIDI[/g] controllable unit with a maximum of 16 voices polyphony. It responds on all [g=32]MIDI[/g] channels (in OMNI mode) and has stereo audio output.
Several DreamStation DXi2 plug-ins can be inserted and used at the same time in order to build up a multitimbral environment in your projects. The number of maximum active DreamStation DXi2 plug-ins depends on the host application and CPU resources. It is recommended to use individual DreamStation DXi2 plug-ins for every [g=32]MIDI[/g] track.
Thanks to the DXi2 architecture, all of the DreamStation DXi2 parameters can be fully automated! Now you can record any actions (such as knob tweakings) done on the graphical user interface real-time, DreamStation DXi2 will act accordingly during playback.
Example of using DreamStation DXi2 with Cakewalk’s SONAR:
Step 1. [g=84]Insert[/g] a [g=32]MIDI[/g] track into your project. In the case you already have a [g=32]MIDI[/g] track you would like to assign DreamStation DXi2 to, then do not [g=84]insert[/g] a new one.
Step 2. [g=84]Insert[/g] a new Audio track into your project. This step is needed in either case.
Step 3. Right-click over the effects container bin of the new Audio track.
Step 4. A menu will pop up, select DX Instruments, then DreamStation DXi2. A new module: DreamStation DXi2 will appear.
Step 5. Now set the output of the [g=32]MIDI[/g] track (see Step 1.) to DreamStation DXi2.
Step 6. Double-click on DreamStation DXi2 in the effects bin to access user interface to program synth.
Repeat these instructions as many times as many plug-ins (different instruments) are needed."
