Ich zitiere hier mal Neuronaut aus den Surround SFX Forums
http://www.surroundsfx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=322
Für die, deren Englisch eher schlecht ist, die Besitzer vom Forum haben jetzt endlich nach langen Verhandlungen die Source vom Neuron. Damit könte man einiges machen.
Current situation with regard to Hartmann and the Neuron products:
Hartmann Music have filed for insolvency and went out of business in 2005/2006. Therefore, officially, all products are discontinued and will no longer be developed. Tech support as far as the hardware is concerned is still being provided by their former manufacturer and distributor Schlafhorst Electronics, http://www.schlafhorst.de. Software and sound support is provided by Denis Gökdag via this forum and the SurroundSFX.com web site at http://www.surroundsfx.com, additional utilities are provided by OSXTools.com at http://www.osxtools.com.
From what I know, all rights to trademarks and the operating software have been sold to Stefan Rapp, the former CEO at Hartmann Music. The sound synthesis technology used in the Neuron product range is proprietary technology developed by myself, marketed and sub-licensed to Hartmann (and others) by Prosoniq.
In November 2006 some of us have started an initiative to be able to provide ongoing software (and potentially hardware) support for the Neuron keyboard. For this we have obtained the agreement and the operating system software source code from Stefan Rapp. The current status is summarized below and will be updated with any changes as time goes on.
Status 01.12.2006:
Where are we at? Right now, the biggest problem is obtaining the source code from the ex-Hartmann developers so we can actually do something about the bugs and improve the code, we might even add some new features further down the road. But without the code, [g=337]none[/g] of this will happen. I have contacted the former project manager for the Neuron and he is currently putting together everything that I (or someone else) would need to compile the latest version of the Neuron OS.
We absolutely do have in mind that Sylvain has offered to help, and for that we are grateful and we might very well come back to his offer, but at this point it is just too early for him (or anyone else) to actually do something meaningful. However, we have the thumbs up from the people holding the rights and with some luck we're going to have the source code soon. This is not a bad start I think. The bad news is that all of us have jobs which are quite time consuming, so I can't really tell if and when we could expect to have an update for any of the products.
You can be reasonably sure though that the update will not be free, I guesstimate it would cost at least between 200-350 Euro, probably more if there is not enough interest. The better we know how many updates will be sold the lower that figure might get, since we're really just trying to get back the costs for development and the tools and cover the costs for this web site, tech support, and future features and enhancements. I can tell you right now that [g=337]none[/g] of us is going to get rich from selling such an update, on the contrary: both mobilegazer and myself (along with a bunch of other people) have lost a lot of money when Hartmann filed for insolvency.
Status end of 2006:
This is to inform you that I have received the full source code pertaining to all Neuron products (Neuron KB, ModelMaker etc.) from the former Hartmann software development coordinator as of today. I will not be able take a look at this before next year but at least we now know that we have everything set up to ensure that there is a future for the Hartmann Music products.
