Hallo,
bin eben auf folgendene interessante Neuigkeit gestolpert, die auf der AES vorgestellt wurde:
"The FireWire Interface Breakthrough
FireWire is hot. Sorry about the pun, but it indeed is a fast way to get data in and out of your computer without opening it up to install a card.
But if you're using a Windows machine, there's trouble brewing in FireWire-land: Different interfaces don't play nice together because drivers are made for specific devices and chips. So, Company A's driver probably won't talk to Company B's interface; if you have, for example, an 8-in/8-out interface and really need a 16-in/16-out interface, you'll have to sell the 8x8 and buy the 16x16.
Or do you? Hopefully not anymore, thanks to CEntrance's universal Firewire audio driver for Windows. Its drivers let an audio program talk to multiple devices simultaneously, so in the example above, you could just buy another 8x8 interface - it wouldn't even have to be from the same company - and you'd be good to go.
This may seem like a small thing, and in a way, it is. Or at least, it will be until you need to expand your FireWire I/O, and find that you can still keep what you're using already."
Hier mal eben der link mit Bild:

Klingt doch mal nach einer richtigen Innovation, wäre schön wenn wir sowas demnächst auch für normale PCI Karten sehen würden.
Gruss Tyler
